Well, it's goodbye to 2011 and hello 2012!
It's been some year! Highs and lows! However, I think overall we have weathered the storms pretty well and have laughed and giggled our way through whenever possible...
Looking back on the year there have been a number of highs:
- Our youngest child, Benjamin, lost his first tooth! Big occasion!!

- There was the Royal Wedding in April - watched it all on TV and loved every minute (even though I had said I wouldn't watch it)!
- Went on a family holiday to St. Abbs, Scotland in August.

Carefree... - Joseph + Benjamin...
- Joseph - started cubs in September.
- Joseph also earned his first belt in Karate - so proud!
- I got published on Beth Nicholl's blog - Do what you love... read here. It speaks about my experience of 'Doing what I love...' and my journey towards that...
- I also got published on Tracey Clark's blog, founder of Shuttersisters in August - read here. It follows the prompt: I am enough...
Then along with the above, there have been all sorts of things that I am so grateful for and continue to be grateful for.
- I have had good health this year and so have my children.
- Hubby broke his leg very seriously on the 1st May. However, we have experienced so much kindness from so many people in response to the difficulties this caused us. Amazing!
- I'm thankful for good friends and family. What would we do without you all?
- I'm overjoyed at the response to my artwork this year. Lots of pieces have sold and I am over the moon! (see below)

8" square x 1.25" - Mixed Media on Wood Panel 'By the light of the moon...'
- Work now showing at Rapture Gallery in Harrogate, North Yorkshire (Westmoreland Street).
- Really happy with the direction that my artwork has taken this year. My favourites:

Respite - 8" square on wood panel - Mixed Media, Original

New - 'Reawakening...' 24" x 30" x 1.5" - Acrylic

New - 'Calling spring...' - Mixed Media - 24" x 30" x 1.5".
- Done one heck of a lot of organising/decluttering this year.
- Had lots of lovely walks with my little dog, Mia, whom I adore.

So, as far as 2012 is concerned....
Well, I am going to really pay attention to my eating habits. I really do have to come to terms with the fact that wheat does not agree with me and that I need to cut it right down, but preferably eliminate (where possible). I have been on this journey a few times over the past years but need to make it a permanent fixture now me thinks!
Also, I love to write both in my journal, poetry writing and on this blog! So, I must, must, make more time for this. It really is important to me...

The above poem was written about spring and the funnily enough 'renewal' that spring brings. Not just with nature but in us a human beings as well. Take a look...
Lastly, I want to get better at 'letting go' and 'trusting' wholeheartedly that everything will work out just fine...
------
If you had to sum up this coming year in one word, what would it be?
My word would be:
NURTURE!
What's yours? Do tell...
So, with that in mind,
Love, peace and self-nurturing to you all....
